about us

Building on the success of the national movement started by NAAGA in 2015, the Downstate New York Diasporans Firearm Club was conceived after the civil unrest of Summer 2020 that led to worldwide protests, as a Chapter geared towards promoting the principles and mission of NAAGA for residents of Downstate New York (Nassau County and areas within the five boroughs of New York City, including Queens and Brooklyn). Our chapter welcomes members from outside the Downstate NY geographic area with current representation in neighboring States, Africa and the Caribbean. We represent various professions, law enforcement, military veterans, long-term firearm enthusiasts and beginners alike. We welcome individuals, couples and families who can meet the membership requirements regardless of your geographic boundaries, as we are here for Diasporans as a whole and in the fullest sense.
We are inviting members of law enforcement, military veterans, fraternities and sororities, Masonic Orders and all those who identify as being a part of the African Diaspora from around the world, to join us for an enlightening and entertaining journey packed with wonderful social, recreational and educational activities under the auspices and privileges of the 2nd Amendment. In addition to the great events we will host year-round, we are also offering a safe space to help educate people about a variety of topics ranging from how to help new enthusiasts to obtain a license/permit to firearm safety/maintenance and developing a National Emergency Support Team (NEST).
We would like for you and other like-minded individuals to embrace our effort to empower our communities of color in New York State, through this unique way of engaging other professionals in a structured, supportive environment designed to increase your comfort and exposure to a wide range of firearms and the accompanying “2A Culture” so prevalent in other parts of the country and communities.
